Privacy policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This policy explains what Ninth Inning Drill ("we", "us") collects, why, and the choices you have. In short: there are no accounts, your game progress stays on your device, a score is shared only if you choose to post it, and the site shows ads from Google that use cookies.
1. Information stored on your device
The game saves data in your browser's local storage: your saved game, stats, streaks, badges, daily results, settings (sound, animation speed, modes), an optional nickname, and a random anonymous device ID used only for the leaderboard. This data stays on your device. You can erase it at any time with "Privacy settings" then "Clear my saved data" on the home page, or by clearing your browser's site data.
2. Information we receive
- Leaderboard (optional): if you choose "Post my score", we store your nickname, score, the date and your anonymous device ID. The nickname and score are shown publicly. Do not use a real name or personal details as your nickname. This data is stored with our database provider, Supabase.
- Feedback and contact forms: your message and, if you provide it, your email address, plus optional game details (mode, spot, browser) if you tick that box. We use it only to respond and to fix problems.
- Hosting logs: like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and browser details when you load a page, for security and operation.
- Analytics: usage analytics are off unless we state otherwise in the site's Privacy settings. If they are enabled, they use a cookie-free provider to count which modes are played, respect your browser's Do Not Track setting, and can be switched off in Privacy settings.
3. Advertising
This site shows ads from Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. We do not control these cookies and do not receive personal information from them.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ad Settings, or through aboutads.info.
- Learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent through a consent message before personalized ads are shown, and you can change your choice later through that message.
- Some US states treat certain advertising data uses as "sharing" or "sale" of personal information. You can opt out using the privacy choices message where it is shown, or Google's Ad Settings.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers to run the site: a hosting provider; Supabase for the optional leaderboard; a form handler for the feedback and contact forms; Google for advertising; and an analytics provider only if analytics are enabled. They process data only to provide those services, under their own privacy terms.
5. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
We rely on your consent for personalized advertising and for posting to the leaderboard; on our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the site; and on your request when you contact us.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To remove a leaderboard entry or make a request, use the contact page and include the nickname and date of the score. You can also clear locally stored data yourself, as described above.
7. Retention
Local data stays on your device until you clear it. Leaderboard entries are kept until removed. Messages are kept as long as needed to respond and to resolve the issue. Hosting logs are kept according to the provider's policy.
8. Children
This site is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has posted personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
9. International transfers and security
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
